Victory Island is a 12-13 acre private island located on the Jervis Inlet on the Malaspina Peninsula of the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is one of the largest, most beautiful private islands for sale at present on the Sunshine Coast.
The island has many interesting features including a large, fully equipped workshop. The island has a 350 ft well that produces beautiful water year round and is pumped out of the ground into two large holding tanks that gravity feed down to the workshop where it is pressurized at 50 pounds and pushed down to the cabin on the water. The workshop holds 45 gel batteries that are on a 48 volt system run by solar panels on the roof of the home. All lighting is LED. There is also a large generator but it is never needed as there is ample power for your daily needs. There is satellite TV and internet.
The home is fully permitted and engineered. It consists of an open plan with two large bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room, and bathroom. The hot water is Bosh on demand. The deck wraps around the home and hangs over the water. At high tide you can jump off the deck down into the ocean. The water is crystal clear and warm in the summer months. The home is situated as such that it gets sun from early early morning until sunset. The sunsets are over the top beautiful! The island consists of old growth trees and over 200 Arbutus trees (the Spanish name Madrone, meaning strawberry tree) which are native to temperate regions of the islands as well as North America. They thrive on the coast where it is very sunny. All appliances are propane which is delivered via the Tyee Titan, a landing craft who delivers all your needs and services everyone in the area. Victory Island comes turn key, all furnished and ready to move in. The cabin was designed BY B.Gordon Hlynsky Architect Of West Vancouver B.C. it is solidly built.
Spot prawns are 2 minutes off the dock - drop your traps and enjoy your catch you can see your traps from the deck. Salmon fishing is 5 to 10 minutes away. Lots of fish around at certain times of the year. Victory Island also has large oyster beds and clam beds for easy picking. Also there are Orca whales and hump backs swimming right in front of the deck, just off the dock at times! The dock floats are permitted and constructed of concrete. They were built to handle a helicopter and can easily dock a 70 ft plus boat and a few small ones. The ramp to the floats is 6 ft wide so you can easily carry material up and down as well as wheelchair accessible.
The island is situated just off the side of Hardy Island where many Americans own homes. Victory Island is located across from the Saltery Bay BC Ferry Terminal. 5 min by boat to pick up your guests or park at the government dock and drive into Powell River to get your groceries etc. A very well equipped coastal town with all the services you need 20 min away (hospital etc.). You can fly in or take a water taxi/boat about 25-30 minutes from Vancouver. Lots of large boats go by in the summer on their way to Desolation Sound and up the BC coast towards Alaska.
