Since Dry Island is a private estate, you may do as you wish in any clothing you choose on your vacation. If you prefer that the staff leave for several hours or days, just say the word and you will have the entire island to yourself.
Facilities
On the water you can enjoy canoes, kayaks, ski boats, 1920's runabouts, small and large sailboats, and silent electric cruising boats. Also available in the area is water skiing, tubing, fishing, and lake tours.
On land try your hand at tennis, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, golfing, paintball, biking, jogging, and croquet.
For more leisurely minded individuals explore the areas lush nature trails or take in one of the areas many museums, art galleries or furniture shows.
Accommodations
Both the main and log house are fully air conditioned though it is cool enough to sleep with the doors and windows wide open. Located 1700 feet above sea level where a gentle mountain breeze is about you most of the time. The Log Cabin sleeps six with a California king featherbed in the master bedroom, and a queen plus two twin beds in the loft.
Firewood is cut and stacked ready for you at anytime. The caretaker will rebuild and prepare a new log fire for you each day if you desire. The island is unpretentious but quite upscale with all the comforts of your own home. The bathrooms are generous in size and have the amenities you would expect in a luxury resort. Oversized Turkish towels, hair dryers, special soaps and lotions are also on hand.
You might call it Wilderness luxury! A private family compound who's owner allows a very limited number of guests each year.
