This tiny gem—just 15 acres in total—offers eco-friendly accommodation for up to 34 guests in 7 self-catering units that are powered by the wind and the sun. All units offer private decks and barbecues overlooking the sunset.

Island Activities
Pumpkin Island provides a great playground for visitors, surrounded by beautiful clean aquamarine water. Activities include:
Swimming and Beach Lounging: A safe, sandy beach on the western side of the island perfect for swimming and beach lounging. The location of the activities hut with kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and life jackets.
Snorkeling: Great off-beach snorkeling with gently sloping beach bottoms, clear water, and an abundance of colorful fish, sea creatures, and plant life.
Fishing: Various fishing experiences around the island—shoreline and deep-sea fishing.
Marine Animal Watching: Dolphins, turtles, and whale sightings in season.
Wilderness Walking & Bird Watching: Walk along the island and Little Pumpkin (joins main Pumpkin during low tide) to various lookout points. Spot Nankeen Kestrels, Ospreys, Sooty and Pied Oyster Catchers, and resident Beach Stone Curlews.
Exploring North Keppel Island: Discover the island's diverse plant communities, wildlife, and spectacular views of Keppel Bay and surrounding islands.
Paddle-boating, Sea Kayaking, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding: Paddle around the island or view unique coral. A glass kayak is available for hire.
Kite-Surfing or Windsurfing: Done from the main beach area on the western side of the island (equipment not provided).
Library & Board Games Corner: Books and board games are available in the Sunset Lounge.
Transportation
To and From the Island: Pumpkin Island is accessible via the Pumpkin Xpress ferry service, which departs from Yeppoon’s Keppel Bay Marina and ferries guests over to the island in around 30 minutes. Adults (18+) travel at $50 each way, and children (17 and younger) at $40 each way. The ferry schedule is subject to tidal conditions, so it's important to check the schedule before booking flights.
Private Boat: Guests can also travel to Pumpkin Island via private boat, with two swing moorings available for guest use.
Helicopter: For a more scenic route, guests can opt for a helicopter transfer, offering breathtaking views of the Keppel Islands and reef-lined waters.
Closest Airport: The closest airport is Rockhampton Airport, a 45-minute car drive away from Yeppoon. From there, guests can arrange a taxi, airport transfer, or bus service to the marina.
