Journey to one of the most secluded corners of the South Pacific and discover Wakaya Island, a 2,200 acre tropical paradise luxury private island resort with superb spa facilities. So far from the centres of commerce and industry, Wakaya boasts one of the purest ecosystems in the world.
Wakaya is the jewel in the crown of the Fiji Islands and The Wakaya Club & Spa is one of the world’s finest tropical resorts, a private retreat that accomplishes an extraordinary combination — providing gracious living, sophisticated cuisine and unparalleled leisure opportunities in one of the most remote and pristine corners of the world.
One of just 333 islands that comprise the Fiji archipelago, Wakaya offers unrivalled service and from the moment you arrive aboard our Grand Cessna aircraft, you can slip off your shoes, sink your feet into the soft white sand and prepare to be pampered.
Friendly yet unobtrusive service is offered by our team of local staff who will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. There are approximately six staff members to every guest so you can rest assured that relaxation will be top of the agenda.
Guests can either choose to hire the entire Wakaya Club & Spa, which sleeps up to 26 guests in villa and bure accommodation or choose to rent Vale-O, a 3 bedroom luxury villa on the island, which accommodates up to six guests.
Wakaya Island is endowed with a gentle climate, pure water, and a diverse topography of cliffs, forests, beaches and lagoons.
Depending on what time of the year you visit you may see Pilot whales cruising through the west passage and an abundance of marine life in the lagoon and out to the barrier reef. The Hawksbill and Pacific Green turtles also return annually to lay their eggs on Homestead beach. Some of the wildlife is seasonal so speak to a Travel Consultant at the time of booking for further advice. The island is naturally scented with frangipani and ginger and is overflowing with fruit trees form just part of the naturally sourced island produce.
On Wakaya Island, the notion of locally grown, organic produce is a given. Our kitchen specialises in Pacific Rim fare, inspired by the Island’s plentiful resources, including locally raised venison, pork, lamb and chicken.
Our Seafood is drawn from Fiji. Pacific green lobster, shrimp, mangrove crab, tuna, wahoo, walu and mahimahi feature on the daily changing menus.
Our organic gardens produce micro-greens, herbs, several varieties of lettuce, eggplant, Chinese cabbage, avocados, kumquats, limes, lemons, pineapples, papayas, sour sop, guava and Fijian ginger – reputed to be the best ginger in the world.
