Welcome to Serenity Beaches, a Tongan beach resort, located on a remote uninhabited island in the Ha'apai island group in The Kingdom of Tonga. Every fale is located, among the trees, on a white sandy beach, providing a truly peaceful, private, and relaxing beach experience. Uoleva was once listed by National Geographic as one of the top 10 island beach destinations in the world. The island is totally surround by sand and people love to take a day and walk the 6 mile (10 K) around the island to experience the total deserted island feel. Serenity is far from the distractions and pace of the 21st century and a perfect place to reconnect with nature, your loved ones, and yourself.

This year we have our own 30 foot boat and are doing guided trips out to see and swim with the whales. Tonga is one of the few places in the world that people are able to get in the water and have an intimate experience with the whales. Last year, among other experiences, we were able to be in the water and spend a half hour watching a mother nursing her calf. Being in the water with the whales is a heart opening and life changing experience and is possible from mid-July to mid-October — sometimes longer.

This island hideaway is a place where you can slip out of your shoes and into a bathing suit or sarong and leave cars and television behind. It is for those who would enjoy sitting under the stars, eating by candlelight, visiting ancient stone mounds, snorkeling in crystal clear water, kayaking to a distant shore, listening to locals play and sing traditional songs, swimming with whales or manta rays, having a drink on the beach at sunset, reading a book in a beach hammock, surfing on your own private break, receiving a relaxing massage, or walking for hours on the beach and seeing no one.

The buildings, made of Indonesia hardwood, have a Pacific Island beach feel. Water is collected as gentle rain falls from the sky. Electricity is collected from the sun. Most food is bought from local farmers and fisherman.

This is a place for families, explorers, honeymooners, and adventurers — those wishing to escape stress, relax, recharge and restore appreciation of life’s simple pleasures.

We now have a dedicated yoga/classroom space so we are now able to accommodate groups with a focus such as art, writing, meditation, dance, cooking, small church groups, yoga, family reunions and weddings.

Accomodations and Rates

Enjoy a relaxing stay in one of our private beach front fales.

The two single room octagonal fales share a bath and both have a beautiful ocean view. One has a queen bed and the other has twin beds.

We added new fales last year. Our new concrete fales have walls and still have much window space and outdoor showers. Our new wood fales are larger and can accommodate a family of up to five people on the main floor.

All fales are separated, so that they allow privacy, giving you the feeling that you are on a deserted island.

The larger en-suite fales have a lovely ocean view porch, a sleeping room with a queen bed on the main floor, a double bed in a loft, and a bathroom with an outdoor garden shower.

All rooms can be opened to capture tropical breezes and are set far enough apart to insure privacy.

Food is prepared mostly from fresh, un-processed, local ingredients with some things imported from overseas. The menu changes daily depending on what the local farmers and fishermen have to offer. We strive to produce healthy meals that energize and inspire with a South Pacific flare. We can accommodate vegetarians.

Free WiFi, free use of kayaks and snorkel gear.

En-suite rooms = 320 paʻanga a night
Three meals = 120 paʻanga a day
Two meals = 90 paʻanga a day
Airport Transfer = 50 each way each person is the going local rate

Please check with us for our low season specials from November through May.

(2 Tongan paʻanga is about 1 US dollar, subject to currency exchange variations)
